The Qinhuangdao Stadium's grandstand membrane roof utilizes a combination of steel columns, large-span steel trusses, and suspension cables, covered with a wavy, arc-shaped polyester PVC coated film. The entire roof is circular, sloping from west to east, resembling a saddle. The entire membrane roof consists of 24 basic tensioning units. Each unit is tensioned at the rear by side cables, its front edge fixed to the inner ring beam steel arch, and its two sides fixed to the upper chord of the steel truss. The unit trusses are supported by steel arches, and the cantilevered trusses are suspended from reinforced concrete columns via front tie rods, front cables, rear tie rods, and lower tie rods. The maximum cantilever span of the steel truss reaches 50 meters. The stadium's 24 cantilevered steel trusses, combined with cable membranes, steel arches, inner and outer ring beams, and front and rear tension cables (rods), form a well-defined and rationally designed spatial structure. The entire roof is structurally sound, light, and aesthetically pleasing. —Excerpt from Qinhuangdao Haisan Construction Group
